1. Adipose tissue-derived cells (ADSC) demonstrated potential as angiogenic cell therapy for ischemic disease in mice, which appears to be mainly achieved by their ability to secrete angiogenic growth factors.2. A novel human feeder cell layer of mesenchymal stem cells harvested from human adipose tissues was established. Transplantation of completely autologous tissue-engineered corneal epithelial cell sheets with healthy donor adipose derived stromal beds were done under the approval by the institutional review board of Osaka University Medical School.3. Effects of cultured adipose tissue-derived stromal cells on proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cell was examined. URB (Up-Regulated Bombesin receptor subtype3 knock out mouse) was shown to be abundantly expressed in ADSC and act as a novel adipokine.
