Research Abstract

夜間に分泌されるホルモンであるメラトニンが網膜の発生に果たす役割を検討するために、メラトニンの作用を伝達する受容体として知られるRORαの機能を解析し、また照明環境が網膜発生へ及ぼす影響も検討した。その結果、色覚に関連する3つの遺伝子(S-opsin、M-opsin、Cone arrestin)がRORαによる制御を受け、またメラトニン分泌を抑制する照明条件により神経分化に関わる脳由来神経栄養因子(BDNF)の発現が増加することが示された
