Research Abstract

本研究は顎の骨を再生させるために必要な細胞を患者自身から探索する研究である。骨を再生させるために必要な細胞は通常骨髄から採取されるが、採取時に強い痛みを伴うために、抜いて不要となった歯の神経や余分な歯肉から簡単に骨になる細胞を本研究では探索した。その結果、歯の神経の細胞や歯肉の細胞からもCD166タンパクを多く発現する細胞には強く骨になる性質があることが判明した。これらの細胞は安全に骨の再生医療に用いることが期待される。
