Research Abstract

食道癌患者術後肺炎発症における口腔微生物の関与を調べた。その結果、歯周病原性細菌が肺組織中に移行して肺炎を起こす菌になる可能性が示唆された。さらに、歯周病原性細菌の2菌種を同時にマウスの肺に感染させると単独感染よりも強い炎症症状をおこすことを認めた。また、高齢者の口腔内に常在するCandida albicans が術後肺炎を起こす可能性を検討するために、マウスの感染実験をおこなった。その結果、歯周病原性細菌よりも強い炎症反応が病理組織所見で確認できた。この結果から、高齢者の口腔内の C.albicans は術後肺炎の原因菌となる可能性が高いことが示唆された。
