Research Abstract

We conducted participatory observations of public health centre activities to help municipality PHNs adopt preventive measures for lifestyle diseases. We also interviewed municipality PHNs and reported on results and held discussions with public health centre PHNs. Moreover, we conducted training programs and provided information on activities that help prevent lifestyle diseases.
The public health centre PHNs became aware of preventive measures and health guidance and understood how to approach the regional health problems. Furthermore, they collaborated with the national health insurance staff and the municipality's hygiene department to promote information exchanges. The primary measures related to medical checkups and health guidance considered by the municipality PHNs were identification of the community's health problems, development of an effective diagnostic system, coordination of the municipality' administrative organizations, and relationship management with hospitals and res … More idents. The public health centre PHN coordinated the municipality' organizations, but did not cause a support service for an identification of the community's health problems, effective diagnostic system and relationship management with hospitals and residents. Based on the interviews, we offered the doctors' association information on the standards by which medical check-ups are judged.
Result of this study, it was deems that extraction of the region's health problems, comprehending the policy platform, consideration of health care activities, improvement of health care skills, and coordinated system in the municipality's organizations are necessary for the municipality PHNs' activities.
It was concluded that an identification of health problems, information exchanges, widespread education on preventive activities, and use of technology in PHNs training were effective measures for public health centres.
The public health centres' sensitivity to the region's health problems should be improved, and an efficient organizational structure is considered necessary for treating the problems. Further, the establishment of a regional system to take preventive actions was deemed essential. Less
