Research Abstract

本研究の目的は、通常の溶液重合と同等の操作で、水可溶性グラフト又はブロック共重合体と同じ物性を持つ高分子包括ナノ架橋体(PENG)を多量・安価に合成するための方法を確立することである。そのために、(1)中性高分子網目に高分子酸を包括した系と(2)酸性高分子網目に中性高分子を包括した系を対象として研究を行なった。(1)の網目形成にはN-isopropylacrylamide(NIPA)を用い,poly(acrylic acid)(PAAc)を包括した。他方,(2)の網目形成はacrylic acid(AAc)を用いてpoly(ethylene glycol)(PEG), poly(2-vinylpyridine)(PVP)及びpoly(vinyl methyl ether)(PVME)を包括した。全てのPENG合成物は精製収率75%以上であり,それらの水溶液は,同じ化学組成をもつグラフト又はブロック共重合体と同等な物性を示した。すなわち,熱応答性を持つNIPA高分子網目およびPVMEを用いたPENG(PAAc/NIPA系とPVME/AAc系)の相分離温度(LCST)は,酸性域で低下し,中性又は塩基性域ではpoly(NIPA)(33℃)及びPVME(38℃)のLCSTと同じであった。また,熱応答を示さないPENG(PEG/AAc系とPVP/AAc系)では,pH3付近の極めて狭いpH域で急激に相分離を起こした。これらの結果は,既報又は推定されるグラフト又はブロック共重合体の相分離挙動に一致した。そこで,本研究で得られたPENGの応用を考慮し,タンパク質の分離・回収や糸状菌の固定化,さらに電場下での相分離を検討した。以上の成果のうち、PENGの合成と物性にかかわる内容は、特許・論文の両者(又は論文)としてまとめて公表する予定であるが、そのための各研究項目の成果は8編の論文(1編の総説を含む)に発表した。
