Research Abstract

光照射により電気伝導性が高まる有機分子配位希土類化合物としてEu(hfa)_3(TPPO)_2を用いた。ここでhfaはhexaf luoroacety lacetonato,TPPOはtriphenylphospineの略である。Eu錯体、Eu(hfa)_3(TPPO)_2は(hfa-D)_3が3配位、(TPPO)_2が2配位した特異な配位化合物である。対称性の低さから発光効率が高められたと理解されている。400nm以下の波長の光の照射でEuのf-f遷移に起因する赤色(622nm)の強い発光が得られる。これらを薄膜化し、電子照射の効果を調べた。電子照射による抵抗率の変化があまり大きくないことがわかり、電気伝導性に大きく寄与する(発光強度と関係し、発光強度を高める)配位子を探索しこれらの合成をすることが必要になった。
そこで、配位子の体積的大きくするため、Eu(TFtBu)_3(TPPO)_2やEu(TFph-Bu)_3(H20)_2に変え、さらにこれらのデンドリマーを合成し、その電子照射効果、光照射効果を調べた。まず、還流の条件で収率が大きく変化するため還流条件の最適化を図った。薄膜化と膜厚制御に関しては、溶媒、濃度、スピンナーの回転数と時間などの依存性を調べ膜厚のコントロールを行った。デンドリマーにおいては世代を増やすことにより光吸収の増大は予想通り見られたが、発光効率の向上につながらなかった。これは配位子の三重項がTF0G、TF1G、TF2Gの順に低下しEu^3+の発光準位に近づくことで、Eu^3+の発光準位から配位子の三重項へのエネルギーバックトランスファーが増加しているのではないかと考えられる。デンドリマーで吸収されたエネルギーが中心の希土類イオンにエネルギー移動が行われなかったと解釈でき、電気伝導性の改善も見られなかった原因であると考えられる。配位子の三重項が比較的高い材料を選択するべきであるという材料設計指針を明らかにした。
