Research Abstract

ヒトを含め地球上全ての生物は、紫外線、放射線、化学物質等の外的要因、またエネルギー産生に伴い自らが作り出す活性酸素等の内的要因によるDNA損傷の脅威に常にさらされている。これら脅威の最終的な生物作用は、我々の身体を構成する各細胞の遺伝子への突然変異誘発である。本研究では、メダカをモデル実験生物として用い、突然変異生成機構を明らかにし、これらの脅威へのより良い対処法を見いだす事を目指している。
