Research Abstract

量子ホール系おける局所的な電子スピン偏極率を実験的に決定するため、抵抗検出型核磁気共鳴におけるナイトシフト測定と核スピン緩和時間の決定を行った。本研究では量子ホール端状態および量子ホールバルク状態を利用した2種類の核スピン制御手法を実現し、これらを利用した。前者においては端状態間電子散乱に伴う電子スピン反転、後者では量子ホール効果ブレークダウンに伴う電子スピン反転を用いている。いずれも超微細相互作用を通じて核スピンを動的に偏極することが可能であり、電気抵抗値の変化として核スピン偏極が検出できる。素子上の微小コイルによる核スピン量子状態のコヒーレント制御、スピンエコーによるコヒーレント時間の決定、電子スピン-核スピン間超微細相互作用のゲート電界制御によるナイトシフト測定を実現した。量子ホール端状態を利用した手法により、量子ホール端状態近傍におけるナイトシフトの空間分布検出にも成功した。本研究で得られた成果により、既存の実験技術ではアクセスできなかった電子スピン偏極率に関する情報を得るための強力な実験手法が確立された。核スピンをプローブとすることで、量子ホール系におけるスピン物性で鍵となる局所的な電子スピン偏極率の決定や電子スピンダイナミクス情報が検出できることになり、今後の研究への展開が期待できる。
