Research Abstract

Rb原子オーブンおよびスピンフリップゼーマン減速器を用いて、低速(約20m/s)原子ビームを生成し、約1010個のRb原子を超高真空(~10-11torr)内の磁気光学トラップ(MOT)に捕獲した。MOTから磁気トラップに移行させた原子集団に約30秒間のrf蒸発冷却を施すことにより、Rb原子では世界最高である約107個のボース凝縮体を生成した。光トラップに捕獲されたボース凝縮体に約1007Gの磁場を印加し、分子生成による原子数の減少としてフェッシュバッハ共鳴を観測した。
