Research Abstract

高分子一本鎖を釣り上げる。1986年の原子間力顕微鏡発明によってそのようなことが可能になり、高分子科学の基礎中の基礎を研究できるようになった。本研究では、従来行ってきた「ナノフィッシング」と研究代表者自身が名付けた手法による高分子一本鎖のエントロピー弾性(ゴム弾性の源泉)に関する研究のみならず、粘性(はちみつのようなねばねばの源泉)についても議論できるようにするべく、装置を改良しつつ研究を推進した。従来、この分野は理論先行の学問であったが、数多ある理論に対して実験的確証を与えられるようになった。それが本研究の最大の成果であると考えている。
