Research Abstract

光ファイバ通信等の高速大容量通信に用いられる半導体レーザの安定動作に不可欠である光アイソレータを半導体ベースの一体集積可能な形で実現した。また、エピタキシャル強磁性金属のもつ特徴的な磁気、結晶学的な特性を集積化型の光アイソレータに応用し、集積光アイソレータ特性を実現した。これらの研究成果は半導体ベースの集積光アイソレータという新たな研究分野を切り拓いたものである。
