Research Abstract

セントロメアは、姉妹染色分体の結合、染色体と微小管の結合、紡錘体チェックポイント信号の発信を担う、分裂期における染色体動態制御の中枢として機能する染色体の特殊なドメインである。本研究では、Aurora Bがセントロメアの構築にどう関わるかを検討し、次の成果を得た:分裂期にAurora Bは、HPIaというクロマチンのタンパク質をセントロメアに引き込むこと、セントロメアでHPIaは微小管の誤接続を防ぎ、染色体の不均等分配を未然に防いでいること、を見出した。
