Research Abstract |
カルシウムイオン(Ca2+)は、真核生物におけるシグナルメディエーターとして、広範な細胞機能の調節に関わっている。私は、単細胞真核生物である酵母を真核生物のモデル系として酵母Ca2+情報伝達経路が関わる生理機能の解明を行った。その結果、酵母Ca2+情報伝達経路は、細胞周期制御因子を転写レベル、翻訳後就職レベル、あるいはたんぱく分解によりそれぞれ制御することがわかった。さらにCa2+は生存・老化制御に重要な機能を持つことがわかった。
