| Research Abstract |
家族性乳癌原因遺伝子BRCA1は、その生殖細胞系列変異により、乳癌、卵巣癌を引き起こす癌抑制遺伝子である。本研究ではBRCA1のDNA修復能に関する機能を詳細に解析し、BRCA1がDNA二本鎖切断、紫外線照射後の転写共役修復、さらには細胞分裂に関与することを明らかにした。これらの研究成果は、家族性乳癌卵巣癌に加え、散発性の乳癌、卵巣癌の発症機構の解明、新たな治療薬となる分子標的の探索、さらには乳癌、卵巣癌の予防法解明にも寄与すると考えられる。
