Research Abstract

口腔レンサ球菌は感染性心内膜炎の主要な原因細菌として知られている.感染性心内膜炎は歯科治療に関連して発症することが多いとされ,死に至ることもある全身疾患であるため,歯科領域での本疾患への関心度は極めて高い.本研究では,感染性心内膜炎患者より摘出された心臓弁に対して分子生物学的解析を行った.その結果,う蝕原性細菌であるミュータンスレンサ球菌が高頻度に検出されるとともに,口腔内では検出率の低い血清型が多く認められた.
