Research Abstract

脳発達期の正確な神経回路網形成には、遺伝的プログラムと神経活動の両者の働きが必須である。本研究では、神経活動に依存した脳の回路発達・可塑性メカニズムの解明をめざした。実験動物(マウス)の大脳皮質内神経回路の解剖学的・機能的なつながり(神経連絡パターン)とその発達過程を詳細に可視化する新たな実験系を確立した。さらに、その発達過程にシナプス前・後細胞の神経活動が重要な役割を担うことを明らかにした。
