Research Abstract

認知症を抱える高齢者が介護職員に対して示す「攻撃的言動」は、介護ストレスの主要な原因の一つとされている。本研究は、おもにベテラン職員に注目して、「攻撃的言動」への認知的評価と対処法について調査した。ベテラン職員は、「攻撃的言動」の原因には、介護者が努力しだいで解決できる問題のみならず、独力ではすぐには解決できない問題も含まれることを認識していた。帰属した原因に応じて、ベテラン職員は、利用者の苦痛を理解して取り除こうとする対処(共感型対処)と、「攻撃的言動」を受け流したり、その経験を忘れようとする対処(切替型対処)の二つを使い分けていた。これら二種類の対処は職員のストレス反応と関連しており、とくに後者の対処がストレス反応を有効に軽減させることが示された。
