Research Abstract

構造制御された遷移金属酸化物ヘテロナノワイヤの創成に向けて、(1)テンプレートとなるMgOナノワイヤの新規創成とその結晶成長メカニズム解明、(2)高度に制御されたナノワイヤテンプレート上にwell-definedなヘテロ構造を有するヘテロナノワイヤの創製とヘテロ界面の物性に与える影響について検討を行った。(1)に関しては、レーザMBE法を用いて高結晶性のMgOナノワイヤを作製し、影響因子(金属触媒量、雰囲気温度、雰囲気圧力、蒸着フラックス等)が一次元結晶成長メカニズムに与える効果について検討し、その物理メカニズムの詳細を明らかにした。例えば、雰囲気温度を緻密に制御することにより酸化物ナノワイヤ形状が劇的に変化することを見出し、その物理起源が表面拡散アドアトムの動的挙動に起因する効果であることを明らかにした。また、基板面方位、アブレーションフラックスが動的な酸化物VLS結晶成長に与えるメカニズムについて検討し、従来困難であったwell-definedなMgOナノワイヤ形成を可能とした。(2)に関しては、in-situナノワイヤヘテロ構造創製法を構築した。本手法は大気暴露なしにwell-definedなヘテロ界面を創出することを可能とした。更に、ヘテロ構造作製雰囲気条件を緻密に制御することによってwell-definedなヘテロ界面を有するナノワイヤヘテロ構造体の作製に成功した。加えて、ヘテロ界面が電気輸送特性・磁気特性に大きな影響を与えることを明らかにした。
