Research Abstract

本研究は、中国語で観察された比較級形式と絶対級形式の逆転現象を手がかりとして、絶対級と比較級の形式を通言語的に調査し、形容詞の意味を決める新しいパラメターを提案した。そのパラメターとは、程度抽象化操作と程度の最大化操作である。この二つの操作が、語彙レベルで行われるか、統語レベルで行われるかにより、比較級/絶対級のどちらが基本となるか、また、形容詞の意味が名詞性と動詞性のどちらに傾くかなどの差異がもたらされることを明らかにした。
