Research Abstract

本研究は,主としてオーストラリアのシドニーとメルボルンを対象に,全大学生定員の約25%にまで急拡大した留学生(大半はアジア出身者)に着目して,都心部を中心にみられる高層・高級住宅の急増との関連を考察した。留学生の急増は大都市圏の人口増加にも大きく寄与しており,関連する商業やサービス業等の雇用へも好影響を与えている。ただ,この現象は従来のグローバル化と都市発展の議論とは異なる性格であることがわかった。
