Research Abstract |
本研究では、質問紙調査を用いて、厳罰化を支持する社会意識がどのような要因に規定されているのかを明らかにしようとした。その結果、「厳罰化への支持は、犯罪を減らしたいという意識が直接的に影響するのではなく、社会状況の認識(モラル低下懸念)と社会観が影響する」という仮説モデルが支持され、「犯罪不安の増大が、それを減らすための有効な対策として刑罰の強化を求めている」という一般によく耳にする図式が、根拠のないものであることが分かった。
