Research Abstract

ガンマ線バースト(以後GRB)はブラックホールの形成と関係する宇宙最大の爆発現象である。本研究では宇宙一明るいGRBがどのように光っているのか、という基本的な問いを理論的に考察した。その結果、(1)GRBが90%以上という異常に高い効率で光っていることが分かった。(2)高効率を実現するモデル(衝撃波加速効率の時間変化モデルや電子陽電子モデル)をいくつか提唱し、(3)高エネルギーガンマ線や宇宙線による検証法を提案した。(4)新たに発見された暗いGRBに対しても理論モデル(中性子星からのジェットモデル)を立て、高エネルギーニュートリノ、宇宙線の量を評価した。(5)衝撃波による粒子加速効率を測定する新しい方法(偏光を用いた方法)を提案した。
