Research Abstract

磁場によって誘起される量子磁性体の構造変化を非接触かつ高感度で検出するために、光ファイバ変位計を用いた磁場中歪み測定装置を開発した。これに加えて、歪みゲージ法や放射光X線回折の手法を組み合わせて、マルチフェロ物質として知らせるCuFeO2や2次元反強磁性体SrCu2(BO3)2など、様々な磁性体に関する磁場中の格子定数を詳細に測定し、磁気相互作用と格子定数の磁場依存性に関して、その相関関係を明らかにした。
