Research Abstract

表面張力という概念は、身近な現象にも多く見られ、古くから研究されてきた。しかしながら、その研究対象はほとんどが時間変化しない系に対してのものであった。時間変化する系、すなわち非平衡系において表面張力をどのように理解すればよいかという問題は非常に重要である。そこで、本研究において、表面張力が時間変化し、かつ制御・観測が容易な実験系を構築した。また、その数理モデル化などを通して、非平衡系における表面張力の理解に迫り、流体方程式との組み合わせによってある程度は評価できることを示した。
