Research Abstract

太平洋熱帯域の気候変動現象であるエルニーニョ現象の季節性は、(1)季節変動に伴う背景場の違いにより積雲対流活動偏差の大きさが異なること、(2)インドネシア通過流(太平洋からインドネシア多島海を通ってインド洋へと流れる海流)を介したインド洋の影響が季節によって異なること、に依存することが示された。そして、上記の長期変調が、エルニーニョそのものの長期変調において重要な役割を果たしていることが明らかになった。
