Research Abstract

脳動脈瘤の血管内治療では、血流速度を減少させ、治癒を行うことが一般的となっている。血流速度を測定することは、治療方法の策定および検証に非常に大切である。しかしながら、治療中治療後も含めて血流速度を測定できる方法は今まで皆無であった。
本研究では、治療中、治療後も同一の条件で使用する血管造影装置からの連続画像を用いたVortex Center Path line method (VCP)法を考案し、実用プログラムの作成を行い、その有効性を検証した。具体的には,治療の際に用いられる血管造影装置で得られた画像から,流体力学と画像情報処理に基づいた血管造影剤の渦軌跡を追跡することにより,動脈瘤内の血流速度を計測する方法を開発した。このような流体力学の手法と画像処理といった工学的なアプローチを適用したことに本研究の特色がある。
本結果は第4回国際イントラクラニアルステント学会(京都)において、「Quantification of Flow in aneurysm for Development of Intracranial Stent」と題して招待講演に選ばれた。さらに、実際の臨床の現場において、脳動脈瘤の発生・成長に関する血流の影響を調べるため、血流数値流体解析との組み合わせ、血流状態を調べる新たな共同研究を行った。この結果は第32回日本脳神経血管内治療学会(神戸)において発表され、演者がポスター賞(銀賞)を受賞するなど、基礎医学だけでなく、実際の臨床現場にも多大な影響与え貢献をした。
