Research Abstract

種々の概念に基づいた各種ヘリカル系プラズマ閉じ込め実験において、共通に観測されている、中心部電子熱輸送閉じ込めの改善モードに対して、低衝突ヘリカルプラズマに特有な電場分岐性によって、その発現閾値が規定されていることを系統的な理論解析によって示し、中心部電子ルート閉じ込め(Core Electron-Root Confinement : CERC)として、学術的な体系的理解をもたらした。また、近年の大型ヘリカル実験装置(LHD : 核融合科学研究所)における高イオン温度プラズマで、径電場による低衝突周波数での輸送増大が避けられていることを示した。さらに、その予測された径電場の実験検証を通じて、CERCとともに、ヘリカルプラズマにおける新古典両極性径電場解析が、広いパラメータ空間において高い妥当性を有していることを示し、核融合炉心級ヘリカルプラズマに向けてのさらなる改善閉じ込めシナリオの提示、その実現に向けた理論検討を行う上での確固たる根拠となることを明らかにした。
