Research Abstract

オートファジーは,細胞内タンパク質を液胞に送り込み,分解する現象であり,液胞分解機構の中心的な役割を担っている.申請者は,オートファジー不能植物(ATG遺伝子破壊株)の表現型解析から,高等植物ではタンパク質のリサイクリング・アミノ酸の供給源としてのオートファジーの生理的役割に加え,細胞死において植物ならではの役割が存在することを明らかにした.
