Research Abstract

多くの昆虫は、光周期を季節を示す情報として用いている。では光周期はどのように読み取られているのだろうか。本研究により、ナミニクバエでは、暗期の前半と後半に光を感受する時刻が存在し、その時刻に光が当たるかどうかによって長日と短日を判定していることがわかった。さらに、これら2つの時刻での光受容には、異なる光受容分子がかかわっていることが示唆された。
