Research Abstract

コハクカノコ科の貝類が、1)海底の洞窟から、2)様々な地下水環境を経て、2)地上の淡水河川へ進出したユニークな分類群であるという仮説のもと、同科貝類の自然史解明と系統解析を行った。その結果、暗所から明所という放散過程が確認された一方、地下水を経た地表進出という単純なモデルは否定された。この放散過程には、幼生期の極めて高い分散能力が大きな役割を果たしている可能性が高い。なお研究成果は3つの国際学術誌に掲載された。
