Research Abstract

細菌べん毛モーターの回転は、イオン流に共役した回転子と固定子の間のダイナミックな相互作用で生じると考えられている。本研究では、ビブリオ菌のNa+駆動型極べん毛モーターを材料にし、GFPを融合させた固定子蛋白質PomAまたはPomBを用いて固定子の挙動をin vivoで観察した。その結果、PomA/PomB複合体は共役イオンであるNa+の濃度に応じてモーターへ集合・解離していることを明らかにした。
