Research Abstract

アズキゾウムシゲノムのボルバキアから水平転移したゲノム断片が360kbに及ぶこと、転移断片上の遺伝子は、読み枠が壊れ、転写産物もわずかであり、偽遺伝子化していることを示した。エンドウヒゲナガアブラムシでは、宿主昆虫の必須共生細菌ブフネラを保持する菌細胞で高い発現を示す遺伝子の中に、ボルバキアの近縁種から水平転移した遺伝子が存在することを示した。この転移遺伝子は、その由来とは異なる共生細菌の維持に関与している。
