Research Abstract

東アジア・太平洋地域に分布する多様な森林が環境問題に対して果たす役割を理解するため, 森林のガス交換特性の指標である水利用効率と気孔コンダクタンスを葉の有機物中の炭素・酸素安定同位体比を用いて評価した。数タイプの植生において葉の有機物中の酸素安定同位体比と蒸散量の関係の検証を行い, 本手法の適用可能条件を示した上で, 様々な森林に適用した。その結果, 樹木のガス交換特性は生育場所の水分環境に応じて決まることが示唆された。
