Research Abstract

本研究は成体神経新生の制御機構における神経活動の重要性に着目し、また深部脳刺激の可変性を利用して、成体ラットを対象に定位的に視床前核を高頻度電気刺激すると海馬神経新生が増加することを示した.また海馬神経新生抑制モデルに応用すると、コルチコステロン投与により正常の約30%程度に抑制された神経新生が視床前核の高頻度電気刺激により正常の約80%まで回復することを示した.成長因子や栄養因子に頼らない神経新生を増加させる方法を開発した.
