Research Abstract

突発性難聴は年間3万5千人以上が発症する重大な疾患である。原因として、血流障害による酸素欠乏説やウィルス感染説が唱えられているが、その他に酸化ストレスの関与も否定できず、原因解明が急務である。そこで障害部位の一つとされる内耳血管条とりわけ血管条中間細胞に着目して研究を行った結果、中間細胞は、辺縁細胞や毛細血管の正常な発達に加え、血管条の抗酸化作用にも寄与することが解明され、血管条の酸化ストレス防御機構が示唆された。
