Research Abstract

顎関節症発症における病態メカニズムの一つとしての活性酸素(フリーラジカル)は,健常者においても常に存在し,生理学的に重要な分子としてその恒常性を維持している.しかし炎症に起因した結果に出現する活性酸素種が多く出現することにより生理機能として維持していた活性酸素を組織障害性の強い活性酸素に変化させ,その症状を増強すると考えられた.そして,これまで仮説として示されているメカニカルストレスに起因する虚血再灌流障害は活性酸素の誘発を助長する結果とはならないことが示唆された.
