Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は、「もう一つの世界」を追求する社会運動の多様性を比較検討することによって、これらの運動が提唱する新しい価値観に基づく「ポスト新自由主義時代」の社会とはどのようなものなのか、その可能性と限界はどこにあるのかを探求することである。研究計画は、（１）全世界の社会運動の多様性や潮流を把握するための量的データ解析と、（２）世界各地域の社会運動研究の質的比較事例研究とを組み合わせたものである。また、グローバル化に対抗する社会運動の地域的・社会階層的・戦略的・思想的な多様性を包括的に理解するために様々な地域の専門家が参加する国際共同研究である。
世界的な新型コロナウイルスの流行の影響により、当初予定していたフィールドワークを実施する見通しがつきにくくなっていることから、フィールドに赴くことができなくても実施できる研究方法を主体に国際共同研究プロジェクトを継続することとし、ラテンアメリカ地域の社会運動・抗議行動研究に焦点をあてることとした。
2021年度は、5月に開催されたラテンアメリカ研究学会（Latin American Studies Association, LASA）の年次大会にてラテンアメリカの社会運動に関する研究成果報告を2回行った。また、11月の日本平和学会の秋季研究集会と、２月のLASA/Asia研究大会にて発表を行った。さらに、東京大学のグローバル地域研究機構が主催するグローバル・スタディーズ・セミナーや現代日本研究センターのセミナーにて成果報告を行った。
また、新型コロナウイルス感染症による影響で延期していた国際合同研究会を、2022年11月から12月にかけてチリにて実施した。チリのロス・ラゴス大学において、日本・チリ学術フォーラムの一環としてワークショップを組織し、10名からなる研究成果報告会を実施した。

Reason

新型コロナの流行という当初予期しない事態が生じたが、最終的に研究の焦点や手法を調整することによって、計画をおおむね順調に継続させることができ、研究成果を国内外の学会で報告し、また、共同研究者と共に英語の書籍として刊行する目途が立ち、本研究を前に進めることができたからである。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

ラテンアメリカ10か国を対象とする国際共同研究体制を整備することができたので、今後はこの体制を中心にして、本研究の量的分析を完成させる。その成果を英語書籍の形で出版することを目標とする。
