| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Osaka Kyoiku University developed and implemented a model program for systematic teacher education to deal with the increase in the number of children needing Japanese language instruction. This educational program aims to contribute to the improvement of diversifying specialties in teacher training and is a minor program in which students from various majors can participate, rather than a major program in which a degree is awarded. Twenty credits are required for completion, including multicultural understanding (eight credits); Japanese language education (eight credits); and practical subjects such as internships, a visit to a school where many target students are enrolled, and a pre-class where initial guidance is given (four credits). A certificate of study is issued to those who complete the course.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
日本語指導が必要な児童生徒数は増加し続けているが，かれらの支援や指導ができる知識や専門性をもった教員の養成・研修は，一部の個別的な実践を除いては，体系的に行われていないのが実情である。そこでこの問題に対処し，さらには全国のモデルとなることを目指して本プロジェクトが取り組まれてきた。プロジェクトは，文部科学省も喫緊の課題として挙げる，日本語指導が必要な児童生徒の指導を担える教員の体系的な育成のための系統的なカリキュラムを編成し，本学における養成教育モデルプログラムを開発した。成果はホームページから発信されている（https://diversity.osaka-kyoiku.ac.jp）。
