Outline of Final Research Achievements |
A near-infrared wavelength-scanning filter has been developed to elucidate the physical conditions of large-scale starforming regions in the Galaxy and extra-galaxies. 1. Design and fabrication of a multilayer device (Fabry-Perot etalon) to realize flat reflectivity across the wide near-infrared wavelength range at low temperatures; 2. Selection and acquisition of piezo actuators to scan fine distances while maintaining the parallelism of the two etalons; 3. Selection and acquisition of capacitance sensors for measuring the gap between 2 etalons and for feedback of optical element spacing adjustment, 4. Fabrication of a prototype model combining these components, 5. and a control system was also designed to perform wavelength scanning while maintaining the spacing and parallelism of the etalon by controlling the ranging and driving in a closed loop.
