Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We developed statistically-based algorithms for predicting the level of injury to pedestrians in traffic accidents, using accident data of Japan and South Australia for pedestrian-vehicle collisions. Although these algorithms do not have the same risk factors because the accident data items differ between Japan and Australia, they have clarified the level of fatal and serious injuries that can occur when a car crashes into a pedestrian.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
