Outline of Final Research Achievements |
When resource fluids flow underground, flow currents are generated underground in response to that flow. Secondary magnetic fields induced by the flow currents are also generated. The fluid flow electromagnetic method is a method to estimate the direction of subsurface fluid flow from the electromagnetic field changes caused by such underground fluid flow. In order to implement this method, it is necessary to measure the two-component horizontal electric field and three-component magnetic field simultaneously at the ground surface. In this study, we developed a measurement system for fluid flow electromagnetic exploration using MI sensors based on the magneto-impedance effect. In the newly developed system, the measuring device is designed to be small enough for simultaneous observation of multiple observation points and to allow long-term measurement with low power consumption.
