Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, we focus on Cloud-Radio Access Networks (C-RANs), which are increasingly being introduced to satisfy various requirements for next-generation wireless access networks. We propose a power-saving control method to stably reduce the power consumption of the entire network even in an environment with time-varying traffic, and confirm the validity of the proposed method through simulation experiments.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

近年移動通信ネットワークにおいて,多様なアプリケーションサービスの需要が増加している.特に第5世代移動通信システム(5G)では,システム容量の大容量化,通信の高速化,低遅延化,多数同時接続化,低コスト化,省電力化といったより高度な無線通信技術が要求されている.そこで本研究では省電力化に着目し,C-RANにおける省電力化に向けた省電力制御手法を提案し,この提案手法の有効性を確認した.
本提案方式は,実環境に即しており,将来的な移動通信ネットワークの増加への対応,かつあらゆる環境下での高品質なサービス提供と省電力化の両立を可能とする.以上より,今後の情報通信分野の発展に貢献する研究成果である言える.
