| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
By conducting ongoing panel (follow-up) surveys of young, middle-aged and older people, this study clarified the mechanisms by which disparities and inequalities are generated, linked, and accumulated over the life course from young adulthood through middle age and beyond. Advantages and disadvantages experienced in the early stages of life have a continuous influence on later life. On the other hand, the study also revealed that some people, despite facing various disadvantages, were able to successfully recover from them.
