Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2020年度は、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大の時期と重なり、資料保存機関や図書館への訪問、学会・研究会のための海外への渡航、対面式のインタビュー調査などがかなり制限されたため、これまで収集した史資料をもとに論文の執筆を進めた。その成果として、東アジアや東南アジアにおけるトラウマの歴史に関する英語の論文集に、近代日本における戦争とトラウマに関する論文を寄稿した。この論文集は、これまで北米やヨーロッパを中心に論じられてきた近代社会とトラウマの歴史の地理的範囲を一気に拡大するものであり、トラウマとモダニティに関する考察が今後さらに深まっていくことが期待される。
また、昨年に続きトラウマティック・ストレス学会のシンポジウム報告者に招待され、トラウマ研究において戦争というテーマが関心を集めていることを実感している。対面式のインタビュー実施はしばらく困難と思われるが、オンラインの市民向け講座で参加者にアンケートを実施し、インタビュー協力者数名を得ることができた。
