Outline of Annual Research Achievements

第一世代星の形成過程における磁場の役割は、初期宇宙には極めて微弱な磁場しか存在しないため、影響を及ぼさないと無視されていた。近年、第一世代星の形成過程における磁場の増幅機構が指摘されており、十分な強さへと増幅された磁場は星形成ガス雲の角運動量輸送過程に影響することで、最終的に形成される第一世代星の質量・個数に変化させるという示唆がある。
第一世代星の形成過程において増幅された磁場が星形成に及ぼす影響を調べるため、これまで調べられていなかった星形成降着段階を磁気流体シミュレーションにより調べた。今回は(1)通常の第一世代星の形成ガス雲、(2)超大質量第一世代星形成ガス雲、(3)大質量第二世代星形成ガス雲の3種類の星形成ガス雲を初期条件として設定した。シミュレーションの結果、宇宙初期の微弱な初期磁場は、星形成の早い段階で急激に増幅することが確認された。この強磁場はガス雲から角運動量を抜き取ることによって、原始星へのガス降着効率を高める。今回調べた3種類の星形成環境において、磁場が星形成過程において重要な役割を果たすことが確認できた。
本研究成果の一部は既に論文にまとめて学会誌(The Astrophysical Journal)に投稿しており、現在査読中である。残りの結果の論文化作業は現在進めている。
今年度は3本の論文を査読誌で発表した。論文[1]は前年度の研究内容をまとめたものである。論文[2-3]は本研究と関連した、宇宙論的シミュレーションの初期条件の生成手続きについて調べたものである。また国内6件・国外3件の研究発表を行った。その中でも、国内発表[3,5]・国外発表[1-3]において今年度の研究成果を報告した。さらに、前年度に受賞した研究内容の説明記事が、一般誌に掲載された。
