Outline of Annual Research Achievements

銀河は周囲の環境から強い影響を受けながら進化していることが知られており、銀河進化の理解には宇宙の構造形成の観点からの研究も不可欠である。また、遠方宇宙に遡ることで、銀河進化・宇宙の構造形成の現場を直接的に調べることも重要である。この目的を達成するためにHSCサーベイというすばる望遠鏡の戦略観測を用いた原始銀河団探査とCFHTLS領域における原始銀河団に対するより詳細な研究を行った。
HSC戦略観測は予定されていた観測がほぼ完了に近づき、これまでにない非常に広い領域の可視撮像データが取得された。最新のHSC戦略観測のデータに基づき、現銀河団候補カタログの更新を行った。特に今年度はUltradeep/Deep領域でのより遠方の原始銀河団探査を重点的に行なった。r-dropout銀河の数密度が有意に高い領域が41領域存在することを確認した。これらは赤方偏移5の原始銀河団候補と考えることができる。HSCサーベイによって同定された原始銀河団候補に対しては、3次元的に銀河が集中した領域であることを確かめるために分光追観測を提案した。
HSCサーベイによる原始銀河団探査と並行して、CFHTLS領域において既に発見されている原始銀河団に対してよりその物理的な性質を理解するために詳細な研究を行った。赤方偏移3において原始銀河団中に星形成を終えつつある大質量銀河が存在るすることを確かめた。また赤方偏移4の原始銀河団では特徴的な銀河分布を確認し、銀河団形成と銀河進化には密接な関連があることを示唆する観測結果であった。
