Outline of Annual Research Achievements

史上最大級の磁場発生手法の実証を行うために、今年度の研究計画は前年度と異なるレーザー装置を活用し、本研究で使われた磁化プラズマ生成手法のレーザーパラメーター依存性の調査である。
レーザーの出力パルス幅が同じくピコ秒オーダであるレーザー施設では、世界中でも昨年度実験を行ったLFEXの総エネルギーが最大クラスであり、今年度ではドイツの重イオン研究所にあるPHELIX施設で強磁場発生実験を実施した。PHELIX施設では磁場発生に利用できるレーザーエネルギーが前年度の実験の6分の1ほどであり、レーザーエネルギーの依存性を調べるのに適当であると選定した。
前年度でLFEXとOMEGA-EP施設で開発を進めていた陽子偏向法はPHELIX施設で実施した今年度の実験でも磁場強度計測に利用された。陽子ビームの生成では前年度の研究成果による空間パターン改善が功を奏し、磁場の時間分解計測に成功した。約50 Jのレーザーに照射されたエスカルゴターゲットで生成された磁場強度は800 Tほどであり、生成された磁場の最大強度がレーザー総エネルギーの二乗に依存する可能性を示唆する結果となった。
