Outline of Annual Research Achievements

脳型情報処理の解明及び工学的応用に向け,構造を制御した培養神経回路と,そこで発現する時空間ダイナミクスを定量的に結び付けるためのシミューションモデルを構築し,神経ダイナミクスの時系列情報処理応用について検討した.また,神経ダイナミクスを再現する脳型ハードウェアの必須要素であるアナログニューロン回路LSIを製作した.
モジュール構造に代表されるような神経回路網の構造が神経時空間ダイナミクスに与える影響を数値シミュレーションから調べ,モジュラーネットワークにおいては神経ダイナミクスの複雑性がランダムネットワークに比べ高くなることを明らかにした.また,Reservoir Computingの枠組みから神経ダイナミクスを時系列情報処理に応用し,構造の異なるネットワークの音声認識性能を評価した.ランダムネットワークとモジュラーネットワーク共に90%以上の認識性能を達成し,神経ダイナミクスを活用した脳型計算の実応用に向けて有益な知見が得られた.特にモジュラーネットワークは一部のモジュールが損傷した場合でも全体のダイナミクスは維持される性質を有する為,環境ノイズや素子のばらつきが大きい環境においても脳型ハードウェアが正しく動作しうる可能性が示唆された.更に,低消費電力で神経ダイナミクスを再現する脳型ハードウェアの実現に向けて,65 nm CMOSプロセスで動作しうるアナログニューロン回路LSIを製作した.本LSIにおいて,神経細胞が示すスパイク状の電圧波形が数種類再現することを確認した.これらの結果は神経ダイナミクスの情報処理応用及び脳型ハードウェアの実現に向け重要な知見であり,神経科学および脳型計算機の発展に寄与するものである.
