Outline of Annual Research Achievements

昨年度に,プログラム開発・拡張とシミュレーションモデルの作成を完了できていたので,今年度は予定通り,「ナノ流体における熱交換の分子論的なメカニズムの解明」に取り組んだ.まず熱伝導率に関してはナノ粒子分散系を対象とし,粒子表面の化学的性質,粒子濃度を検討パラメータとした.平衡状態のシミュレーションを行い,Green-Kubo法を用いて熱伝導率の算出を試み,ナノ粒子が形成する自己集合構造と熱伝導率の関係性を調べた.その結果,熱伝導率はナノ粒子が形成するクラスターサイズに依存することが分かった.本結果は,投稿論文としてすでに発表されている.
粘度の計算に関しては,ドイツのArash Nikoubashman博士と協同研究を行った.添加剤としてナノ粒子を選択し,せん断流れを与えたときのナノ粒子水溶液の粘性挙動と自己集合構造の関係性を調べた.検討パラメータは,ナノ粒子表面の化学的性質(疎水,親水,Janus),形状異方性(球状,球端円柱状),粒子濃度とした.調査の結果,粒子のデザインや粒子体積分率に応じて現れる様々な自己集合構造が現れた.また,せん断速度がある速さを超えたとき,クラスターの破壊とともに,Shear-thinning現象(せん断速度が増すにつれて粘度が低下する)が観察された.さらに興味深いことに,これらの粘性挙動はナノ粒子同士が形成するクラスターの平均会合数によって整理することが可能である一方,クラスターの形状はそれほど影響を及ばさないことが分かった.これらの結果も,投稿論文としてすでに発表されている.このように今年度の目標であった「ナノ流体における熱交換の分子論的なメカニズムの解明」に関して,ナノ粒子が形成する平均クラスターサイズが,熱伝導率及び粘度に対して支配的なパラメータの一つであることを明らかにすることが出来た.
